Two concurrent events will bring together industry leaders and analysts to discuss opportunities in a changing environment; international forum will include afternoon prospect promotion forum
HOUSTON (January 31, 2011) – IHS Inc. (NYSE: IHS), a leading global source of critical information and insight, will sponsor both the Winter NAPE® 2011 U.S. Conference and the NAPE 2011 International Forum on Wednesday, February 16 in Houston. The U.S. NAPE 2011 Conference will be held in the Grand Ballroom (fourth floor) at the Hilton of the Americas Hotel, 1600 Lamar St., (adjacent to the George R. Brown Convention Center). Pete Stark Ph.D., vice president, industry relations for IHS CERA, will moderate the conference entitled, “Unconventional Developments.”
The NAPE 2011 International Forum will be held in the George Bush Grand Ballroom, which is located on the third level of the George R. Brown Convention Center. Steve DeVito, director of Latin America and frontier North America regional teams for IHS, will moderate the international forum entitled, “Bullish Signals for International E&P.” During the morning session, industry executives will address exploration opportunities and strategies that upstream international oil and gas companies are pursuing to address future supplies for oil and gas. The afternoon session is a prospect promotion forum and will feature presenters from companies and countries offering oil and gas prospects for co-venture or sale.

Along with the economic recovery oil demand is increasing and global LNG markets are beginning to tighten. Oil and gas prices are strengthening and in spite of post-Macondo concerns, operators are reactivating suspended offshore development projects. Discoveries continue to open new conventional play fairways and to expand established plays while unconventional gas and oil opportunities are being pursued throughout the world. This forum will address the challenge and opportunities and strategies that companies are employing to maximize their success in international E&P.

The NAPE 2011 U.S. Conference and the NAPE 2011 International Forum are the kick-off events for the NAPE 2011 Expo, February 17 - 18, the world’s largest marketplace for oil and gas prospects, and a networking event that is expected to draw approximately 15,000 attendees.
